$75 Investment Yields 3.125 BTC for Solo Miner

On February 24, a solo miner successfully mined block #938092 on the Bitcoin network, earning a reward of 3.125 BTC (approximately $196,650 at the current rate).

According to Braiins, the user’s expenses amounted to just $75. The miner did not use personal equipment but instead spent 119,000 satoshis ($75) to rent 1 PH/s of power and paid a small fee.

The Braiins pool supports solo mining using CKPool platform software. The latter’s administrator, Kol Kolivas, noted that this block was the first mined under their partnership.

Data from the Bennet aggregator indicates that solo blocks are typically found once every 17.2 days. However, the frequency of such occurrences is increasing. Over the past year, 21 solo miners have successfully mined a block.

In total, they have earned 66 BTC. Compared to the previous year, the number of solo blocks found has increased by 17%.
