Bitcoin ETFs Record First Monthly Inflow Since April

In July, U.S. spot exchange-traded funds (ETF) based on the leading cryptocurrency attracted $172.4 million, breaking a two-month streak of outflows, according to SoSoValue.

This positive outcome occurred despite a volatile end to the month. On Friday, July 31, ETFs saw a $265.4 million outflow, marking the largest daily withdrawal since the 13th. The last week also ended negatively, with a net outflow of $61.53 million.

The return to inflows reversed a trend of nearly $7 billion withdrawn from these instruments over the previous two months. June was particularly hard-hit, with a net outflow of $4.5 billion, the worst monthly performance since the products launched in January 2024.

Funds Remain Negative Year-to-Date

Despite July’s results, the accumulated outflow from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs since the start of 2026 stands at approximately $5.29 billion.

Only three months—March, April, and July—showed positive dynamics, collectively bringing in $3.46 billion. January, February, May, and June accounted for about $8.75 billion in withdrawals.

Overall, these products have attracted $51.32 billion in investments since inception. The total net assets of Bitcoin ETFs were valued at $76.29 billion at the end of July.

Ethereum ETFs Achieve Best Monthly Performance

Spot Ethereum ETFs ended July with a net inflow of $365.2 million, marking four consecutive weeks of positive performance.

For these products, the month was the second profitable one this year, with the previous being April, which saw $356 million. The cumulative result for funds based on the leading altcoin remains negative at around $1.1 billion.

There was also sustained demand for XRP-based structures, which attracted $27.3 million. Since the beginning of the year, these products have garnered about $343 million, one of the best performances among cryptocurrency ETFs. Investments in Solana-based instruments totaled $14.6 million for the month.

Earlier, at the end of July, trading volumes in the digital asset market approached their lowest levels since November 2023.
