Oracle Corporation and Quantinuum have announced a strategic partnership to integrate the Helios quantum computer into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Helios is a third-generation system based on 98 physical qubits. It utilizes trapped ion technology and achieves operational accuracy exceeding 99.9%. The installation consumes less than 1% of the energy required by modern supercomputers.
The partners will focus on advancing hybrid computing that combines artificial intelligence and quantum systems. These technologies are intended for use in discovering new materials, drug development, logistics optimization, and financial modeling.
Oracle plans to release a preview version of the quantum service in the coming months. Developers will have access to tools for creating applications in a familiar cloud environment using open code libraries.
The integration will allow companies to utilize quantum resources without purchasing and maintaining their own equipment. According to Oracle representatives, this will make complex computations more accessible to businesses and research institutions.
Earlier, in May, Saudi Aramco and Pasqal launched access to the first quantum computer in Saudi Arabia.
