Crypto Funds Attract $1.65 Billion in Three Days Amid Bitcoin Surge

Global investment crypto products attracted $1.65 billion in the first three days of the week. Nearly $1 billion was allocated to Bitcoin, signaling a renewed demand from institutional investors, according to a CoinShares report.

Investors also directed $478 million into Ethereum.

This marks the second consecutive week of inflows, with crypto funds receiving $2.94 billion in the previous week, the largest weekly figure since the start of the year.

Analysts at the company linked the increased demand to uncertainty surrounding the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy. Amid conflicting economic signals, investors continue to seek alternative assets.

Bitcoin Surpasses 200-Day Moving Average

The inflows coincided with Bitcoin’s recovery. On August 26, the cryptocurrency closed the day around $78,500, having briefly risen above $81,000 the previous day.

Additionally, Bitcoin surpassed its 200-day moving average for the first time in 270 trading days. This indicator is often used to assess the market’s long-term direction.

Inflows into investment products alone do not guarantee continued growth, CoinShares noted. The capital movement indicates that institutional demand for digital assets is strengthening after recent weakness.

U.S. Drives Majority of Demand

The majority of inflows came from U.S. investors, with products in the U.S. receiving about $1.5 billion of the $1.65 billion. Germany and Switzerland also showed notable inflows.

The total assets under management by crypto investment structures reached approximately $155 billion. For the first time this year, industry flows turned positive, amounting to about $3.4 billion.

In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, investors purchased positions in altcoins: XRP-based products received $80.5 million, Solana $62.9 million, and Hyperliquid $39 million.

Earlier, inflows into ETFs and declining U.S. Treasury yields have fueled demand for Bitcoin following recent growth, according to XWIN Japan.
