First U.S. Sentence for AI-Generated Music Fraud Issued

On October 6, a Manhattan federal court sentenced 54-year-old Michael Smith from North Carolina to 18 months in prison for illegally inflating streams of AI-generated music. In March, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
