Anthropic Seeks $10 Billion Funding at $350 Billion Valuation

Anthropic is poised to secure $10 billion in new funding. The developer of the Claude chatbot is targeting a valuation of $350 billion, according to WSJ, citing its sources.

The round will be led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and investment firm Coatue Management.

The new valuation nearly doubles the figures from September of the previous year, when the startup was valued at $183 billion following the closure of a Series F round at $13 billion.

In addition to the main round, Nvidia and Microsoft plan to invest up to an additional $15 billion in Anthropic, sources revealed. The parties aim to close the deal in the coming weeks, although the final investment amount may be adjusted.

The company’s management forecasts reaching break-even by 2028, ahead of its main competitor, OpenAI. Anthropic also intends to go public in 2026.

The excitement around AI startups persists following a record-breaking 2025. According to Crunchbase, over the past 12 months, the artificial intelligence sector attracted about 50% of all global venture capital.

Total investments exceeded $200 billion. The largest deal of that period was OpenAI’s $41 billion funding supported by SoftBank.

In December, US tech giants formed the Agentic AI Foundation alliance to standardize AI agents.
