OpenAI Integrates Shazam into ChatGPT

OpenAI has integrated the music recognition service Shazam into ChatGPT. Users can identify tracks without leaving the application.

Several months ago, Apple added support for Apple Music to the neural network, allowing users to generate playlists. Now, the Shazam service, owned by the corporation, has also become part of OpenAI’s ecosystem.

The tool is available in the ChatGPT mini-app catalog. Users can ask “Shazam, what’s playing?” or “Shazam, what song is this?” by voice or text. The service will prompt to enable the microphone.

The platform will then identify the song, displaying a card with the artist’s name and album cover.

No separate app installation is required. To set it up, go to the page, find Shazam, and connect your account.

After identification, users can listen to a song snippet or save it to their Shazam library—this will require the app to be installed.

The service is available in ChatGPT on iOS, Android, and the web version.

Back in December 2025, OpenAI introduced an app store for its chatbot. Developers can launch their own products within the chatbot by submitting an application.
