Chinese company Unitree has introduced a new humanoid robot named ‘Superman’—a prototype capable of running at 12.66 m/s and jumping two meters high from a standstill. The presentation was reported by Reuters.
The company claims that it took just over three months to develop the humanoid, which surpasses human world records in athletics. However, ‘Superman’ remains a prototype and continues to be refined.
The announcement came ahead of the World Robot Conference in Beijing, scheduled for August 19–23, 2026.
On August 19, 2026, Unitree shares will begin trading on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The IPO was oversubscribed by retail investors more than 8,000 times, with a retail allocation probability of about 0.018%. The offering price was set at 150.8 yuan per share, valuing the company at approximately 61 billion yuan (~$9 billion). The procedure is expected to raise about 6.1 billion yuan (~$905 million) before fees. Among Unitree’s investors are Tencent, Alibaba, and DeepSeek.
According to media reports, derivatives on offshore markets indicated a strong debut for the shares ahead of the listing, and the STAR50 index rose about 15% from its three-month low in early August 2026.

As of July 2026, Unitree had produced around 18,000 bipedal humanoid robots of various models.
In August, AgiBot claimed leadership in the global humanoid market, leading to debates over counting methods between two leading companies.
